Oh the joys of being able to pack away your work at the end of the day; to quickly toss all that mess into a drawer, leaving only clean, clear tabletops for the eye to behold.
With the Otto play table, those ever-clever Bloom Baby dads have given the toddlers of the world the quick-tidy-fix solution their parents have been waiting for…
Not only does the table have the gentlest of curves (hooray, no sharp edges for when the kids’ play moves from arts and crafts to raucous cowboys and indians), it also has two trays that neatly slide away beneath the table top, as well as two gorgeous chairs that are brilliant in their own right, but even more impressive when they serve to enclose the entirety of this play table into one neat and tidy package.
Of course, the trays can be prepped with all those crafty goodies one needs at hand when the mood demands some serious artistic expression, and sitting children at either end of the table is quite simply genius. This way, they each have their own tray, they each have their own space, there is no need to share, debate or argue about how much space one of the other is taking up.
Designer Details Bloom Baby was set up in 2009 by four dads who wanted to bring a sense of contemporary design to the world of baby products. Kickstarting the business in 2005, the four dads are an international set: Simon May lives in Australia, Jason Lewis is from New Zealand, Francisco Balderrama is from Mexico, but lives in San Diego and Jon Lake, who is from the US, but lives in Hong Kong for much of each year. Which is perhaps why they have been able to create designs that have such universal appeal. Style, Safety and Sustainability are their three core principles, and their iconic products include the Alma crib, the Bloom Otto Table and the Coco Lounger, and in 2012 they teamed up the the BabyZen team to create a fabulous range of accessories for the Zen pushchair.
