Emma Ventura/ Associate Travel Editor
Having spent much of her own childhood exploring the deserts and mountains of Oman with her adventurous expatriate parents, Emma Ventura has never lost the thrill of discovery. Her work as a writer and editor saw her based in Oman, Vietnam and the UAE before she set up a permanent home in Australia in 1998. Although her career has seen her navigate a traditional Arabic canoe through the Strait of Hormuz, tag albatrosses on the Tasman Sea and travel on foot through South Africa’s Kruger National Park, Emma’s head is just as easily turned by great food and design. She was Deputy Editor/Travel Editor of Australian Gourmet Traveller before making the leap to freelance writing in 2011. Emma has contributed to numerous publications including Australian Gourmet Traveller, The Weekend Australian, British Airways High Life, Good Weekend (Sydney Morning Herald), Jamie Magazine, Qantas The Australian Way, Gourmet Traveller WINE, Voyeur (Virgin Australia), Marie Claire (Australia) and Post Magazine (South China Morning Post, Hong Kong). Emma currently divides her time between London and Sydney.
