BabyBjörn is a Swedish family-owned business started in 1961 by Björn Jakobson. Their business concept was at the time, and still is:To make day-to-day life easier for parents of small children by developing safe and innovative products of the highest quality for children up to three years old. BabyBjörn strives to make the most important years of life even more fun. They are curious, constantly see new opportunities and always work on the basis of our unique safety and quality philosophy.

In the beginning of the 70s, medical experts concluded how important eye contact and physical closeness between parents and their children is, especially during the first six months of life. Björn Jakobson was inspired by the new research findings and began working on developing a product that could facilitate closeness and the bond between parents and their newborn babies. BABYBJÖRN launched its first baby carrier, “Hjärtenära” (Close to heart), in 1973.

BabyBjörn products are now found around the world, in over 50 countries, and our assortment consists of baby carriers, bouncers, travel cribs, cradles, potty chairs, high chairs and kitchen products. BabyBjörn’s attitude is that you shouldn’t need to buy a bunch of products when your children are little. Instead, just a few that really work and last a long time in good condition.
