Just when you thought egg cups had nowhere else to go design wise, along come these somewhat nostalgic-with-a-twist solid oak egg ‘carvings’ from Hop & Peck.
And what a great idea – after all, those little upright cups are always a storage dilemma! But now you can have these delightful little creatures sitting neatly stacked on your cupboard shelf just like plates.
With their creative shapes, however, we’d prefer to feature these egg cups sitting on a shelf in the kitchen, perhaps with the tractor chasing the bunny who is chasing the hen, who is chasing the rocket…
Handmade at Hop & Peck’s Saffron Walden workshops, these are the perfect dining accoutrement for little hands with their ergonomic, easy-to-get-a-grip-on shapes and inspiring themed outlined. Of course, everyone in the household will need to have their very own little Hop & Peck design, so which one will you choose?
Designer Details Designers Elaine Welch and Stephen Robinson set up Hop & Peck in 2010 to create a collection of wooden products that are simple, clever, functional and ergonomic, but with an added design twist. Made from oak that has been carefully sourced from sustainable forests, products are handmade and hand finished in the Hop & Peck workshop in Saffron Walden in Essex and designed to be keepsakes to hand down through the generations. Finished with Danish oil and painted with child-friendly water-based paints, all Hop & Peck products are designed to avoid using screws or nails, making them even more eco-friendly and even safer for children.
