Asche & Unkelbach was founded in 2007 by Florian Asche and Klaus Unkelbach. A furniture range was created in 2009 with the april allterior, which includes the indoor and outdoor area. Both founders draw on the experience of their long term collaboration and their joint know-how when collaborating for april allterior furniture: product designer Florian Asche was co-founder and, up until 2006, co-owner of the design furniture company e15 GmbH, together with business manager Klaus Unkelbach, who, until 2006 was also co-owner of e15. Together, they continue on the creative path with a new concept. They have developed a new furniture range with april allterior based on their proven strategy of combining high value material and minimalist design, which makes the boundaries between inside and outside permeable and creates a new living space.

Furniture from april furniture stands for quality and minimalist design. All materials used are suitable for permanent use outdoors. The concept behind our LOOP and LOOPy upholstered lounge furniture focuses on weatherproof textiles used for outdoor products. Despite their water-resistant properties, these textiles feel like natural materials and are just as soft and comfortable as woollen materials and cotton fabrics. The modern textiles are also dirt-repellent, meaning that even tough stains like bird droppings or fine dust can be easily removed. These properties enable the textiles to be used for furniture boasting modern and minimalist designs that can even be used outdoors.

april furniture also offers a new and unique product for providing shade on terraces. The modern ShangriLa sunshade acts as both a sunblind and a screen and also features high-quality weatherproof textiles. The sunshade enables users to slide its fabric panels around the frame depending on the position of the sun. When used as ‘walls’, the fabric panels help to block out the glare of the evening sunlight.
