On a visit to Cambridge to see a friend (a Shakespearian academic no less), he guided us down a little side lane to a teensy tiny shop of tales… The Haunted Bookshop, run by Sarah Key. There were all the Famous Five books, plenty of well-kept vintage comics and – to my great delight – the tales of Milly-Molly-Mandy. Oh, the wonderful haunts of my childhood reading. In fact, many of these books were from more likely to have come from my grandparents’ childhood library!  During my ever-too-brief visit, the oldest book I found was from the 1800s, and the teetering towers of tomes that lined the upstairs ‘attic’ just begged for some time to sit and explore. Thankfully, I didn’t have the time, or I may have left with far too little money in my purse and far too many books for me to carry…
